Shaun Smith, Joe Karle, and Curtis Oxborough today attended the installation of a bronze bust, created by Castings Technology, of Little Mester Stan Shaw at Sheffield’s Kelham Island.
Also pictured is Mrs Shaw, Stan’s widow.
Sheffield artist Chris Denham produced a clay model of Stan’s head which allowed an accurate 3D scan to be done by PES (Performance Engineered Solutions Ltd).
Two busts in stainless steel and bronze were then made by Castings Technology.
Both firms gave their services freely to enable the busts to be completed.

The stainless-steel version was mounted in the foyer of the Cutlers Hall, in Sheffield on 4th February 2025, where Stan was made a ‘Freeman’ in 2003.
Now, the bronze version of Stan’s head which has been mounted on a plinth created by Sheffield firm, Cobra Manufacturing has been unveiled at Kelham Island Museum.
Stan’s old workshop was at Kelham Island Museum, where he worked from 2009 until his death in 2020.
