Process Engineer

Role Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, those below

  • Optimise manufacturing processes within the foundry to maximise efficiency and minimise waste
  • Develop, optimise, and implement manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Preparing process documentation and operating instructions
  • Devising, implementing and testing new strategies to help optimise productivity
  • Analysing data to discover areas that need improvements and upgrades
  • Analyse total cost of manufacture to determine cost effectiveness of process improvements
  • Knowledge and implementation of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, technical, operational and quality assurance, to ensure smooth process operations
  • Troubleshoot process issues and develop solutions to address root causes
  • Support new product introductions by providing input on process design and scalability
  • Utilise statistical tools and data analysis techniques to monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all process activities
  • Defect analysis
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues in a timely manner
  • Create initial trial plans for review by technical team
  • Train and mentor production personnel on new processes and procedures as needed
  • Drafting technical reports
  • Adhere to deadlines
  • Evaluate scrap / rework on a daily basis
  • Follow trial parts through all departments
  • Support melting operations as needed
  • Attend daily production meeting and provide updates on related process issues
  • Attend weekly technical meeting
  • Attend and actively participate in the weekly NCR meeting
  • Actively participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) meeting
  • Constantly collate the top 5 repeating NCR’s and prioritise on the most common NCR followed by the remaining 4
