Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, those below

• Administrate external testing, including sending samples, arrange PO’s and reviewing results
• Conduct laboratory comparison tests
• Creation of certificates and report in accordance with the relevant standards and company procedures
• Perform internal mechanical testing as per requirements and documented procedure
• Calibration of equipment to be undertaken and / or arranged as per schedule
• Performing periodic internal calibration checks in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025
• Generate certificates and reports
• Ensure the Quality Manager receives the calibration certificates
• Maintain laboratory equipment according to documented procedures and housekeeping standards
• Maintain, create and interpret statistical charts using relevant software
• Assist with problem solving on manufacturability problems as they relate to metallurgical or chemical matters
• Perform light maintenance on laboratory equipment where required or report problem when out of capabilities
• Preparing sample pieces for test requirements
• Perform internal chemical analysis
• Metallographic preparation
• Photomicrography
• Corrosion Testing
• Respond to inquiries efficiently and professionally
• Ensure customers are kept informed of changes/updates on a day-to-day basis or as required, especially where overall service and/or delivery could be affected
• Interpreting and presenting laboratory data to management or senior colleagues
• General laboratory duties
