No formal qualifications are required for this role, however, if you have practical skills, such as DIY, and are dextrous then they will prove very useful for this role.

Role Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, those below

Upgrade of castings in Non-Ferrous alloys
Ability to work to tight tolerance’s and follow the required quality procedure at all times
Removal of ceramic mould material
Removal of metal running, feeding and gating systems using hand tools i.e. grinders, burrs, abrasive belts
Prepare casting ready for the welding process based upon the results from NDT and CMM investigation
Dress castings back to drawing tolerance and profile and record results accordingly
Ability to use measurement tools i.e. vernier, callipers, micrometres, depth gauges
