Previous Experience

  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
  • Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing or foundry environment.
  • Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • High-temperature furnaces (VAR, ISM, Air Melt Induction)
    • PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
    • AC/DC drives, sensors, and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of heat treatment processes and equipment controls.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications Required

  • Apprenticeship-trained in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with SCADA systems and data logging.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 aerospace or other high-specification environments.

Electrically Biased Maintenance Technician

Role Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, those below

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet targets

  • Coordinate and chair NPI meetings as required

  • Capture and implement all design modifications and improvements

  • Establish processes that minimise manufacturing cost and improve associate safety

  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, operations, and quality

  • Communicate project status, risks, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders

  • Coordinate supplier and vendor requirements, including purchase orders

  • Analyse results and implement necessary design or process changes

  • Lead and deploy manufacturing best practices to reduce cost, cycle time, and improve material flow

  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements

  • Create and maintain product release documentation packages

  • Complete quality plans when required

  • Control standards documentation and manage internal audits

  • Inform internal stakeholders immediately of quality issues impacting customers

  • Arrange and manage calibration activities, ensuring records and certificates are maintained

  • Champion and support quality improvement initiatives across the business

  • Drive objectives and KPIs to improve overall business performance

  • Support the development of a facility that consistently delivers recognised quality products
